Summary
Following a tender process we were contracted by Badminton Wales to undertake the planning and preparation of a new strategy for Badminton in Wales
Approach
We undertook a three stage process
Asking: the members, staff, board and stakeholders what they felt should be the key priorities for Badminton in Wales. this involved workshops in the north and south of Wales. Furthermore we undertook an online survey to gain the views of members, local authorities and other key partners in delivery.
Shaping: from the outcomes of the first phase we shaped the potential vision. mission and key objectives with realistic and pragmatic objectives building on the good practice of the previous years and recognising the national trends in growing sports participation.
Agreeing: following these deliberations we sought agreement of the plan with the board of Badminton Wales and key members bodies.
Outcome
The strategy was accepted by the board and formed the basis of a full submission to Sport Wales for grant aid for the coming Commonwealth Games cycle.
