Summary

Our consultancy team developed three evidence compendiums, to add to the adult compendium produced by the Black Country Sports Partnership in 2013. The compendiums provide a support tool for organisations working to secure funding to increase participation in physical activity and sport across the sub region. The compendiums covered three different age ranges – early years, children and young people and older adults and are vital with the changes to devolved health funding in maximising the future investment in sport and physical activity

Approach

The evidence in the resource comes predominantly from systematic review sources at a national/international level and sits alongside statistical, programme and cost effectiveness information derived from identified sources. It was a crucial factor that all information is available in the public domain. We developed the evidence under the headings developed by the Black Country CSP for the adult compendium

Outcome

The completion of the Cradle to Grave evidence compendium series that will provide a tool for local organisations to attract funding into sport and physical activity.
