This range of 1st4sport qualifications provides a widely recognised, regulated coaching qualification. The courses can be completed in any sporting environment and are not limited to a specific sport.
They are ideal for independent coaches and people who coach in an environment that is not specific to one sport.

Check the requirements of your organisation
Some organisations, including National Governing Bodies of Sport, require coaches to complete their own qualifications. Make sure your chosen qualification is suitable for your coaching environment.
Assistant coaching or leading your own sessions
1st4sport Level 1 Award in Assistant Coaching (Sport & Physical Activity)
For learners who will support a qualified Level 2 coach.
1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Sport & Physical Activity)
For learners with experience as an assistant coach who want to progress to leading their own sessions.

Organise a Level 1 Assistant Coaching course

Learn online and demonstrate your coaching
Complete your learning through the Sport Structures online learning platform. Written and practical assessment tasks are uploaded to the platform.
Your coaching environment
Complete the practical assessment in your usual coaching environment. You must already be involved in a club or similar setting before starting the course.
Equipment to film your session
You need to video your coaching session. Make sure you have, or can borrow, the equipment you need.
Video quality and permission
Sport Structures will provide guidance to help your video meet the standards needed for assessment. You must also obtain permission to film the participants in your session.
