This qualification is ideal for learners who are seeking an entry point to coaching and are looking at supporting a more qualified coach.

Learners may gain opportunities as a paid or voluntary assistant coach. The qualification is also recognised as the industry standard level 1 qualification for coaches by UK Coaching and maps to the CIMSPA professional standard of Assistant Coach. Learners should be able to approach their National Governing Body and see if they would accept recognition of prior learning – meaning that if you wanted to attend a level 1 sport specific course, the course may be shortened to recognise the learning that you have already covered.
