Developing People in Sport

Why?

The Community Sport Foundation is one of the largest in the country and needed a training provider to support the development and growth of their community coaching provision.

They wanted to identify a training partner to work together and create a comprehensive workforce development programme that encompassed education and training for their staff and the wider community.

How did it all begin?

We started working with the Foundation, initially providing coach and leader education. Over the years we have, in partnership, built a programme for internal staff whether they are coaches, developing sport or working in administration or management positions to be their training provider for the 100 full time and 100 part time staff.

How have we supported them?

We have been working in partnership with Norwich City CSF to help create a clear workforce development pathway and identifying suitable training for this. We’ve developed their staff to deliver and assess coach education training that they then deliver in-house to their staff as CPD.

We deliver apprenticeships in business, management, coaching and sports development to support the ongoing development of the workforce.

What has been the impact?

Norwich City CSF now has their own bespoke workforce development pathway with training embedded into it to futureproof their business.

"Apprenticeships are an opportunity to mould the next generation of your staff. You can work with a provider such as Sports Structures to make the content map into something that is more meaningful and tangible to you, and you can be surprised at how much scope you’ve got to make it bespoke to your content. You can actually build your own staff’s internal CPD into their apprenticeship as an additional value item."
