Summary:

To support Sports Aid in the development of their three year business plan and also the relationship with the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme.

Approach:

Sport Structures worked closely with the board of trustees’ representatives of Sports Aid to develop, review and audit the present position of the organisation and its regional partners. This auditing identified the inconsistencies within the regional Sports Aid bodies. In addition the key element of the business plan was to increase the profile and income generating opportunities as part of the support to athletes entering TASS. Sports Aid role was to identify sources of funds through the regional bodies to support scholarships and bursaries of athletes entering Further and Higher education not in receipt of Lottery funding through their Governing Body of sport.

Outcome:

The planning process led to a fully costed business plan with a mission and key objectives.

Mission:

To provide financial support for individual talented athletes outside of the World Class Performance Programme.

Objectives:

1. TASS

To ensure the effective implementation, management and administration of the TASS programme.

2. To increase income for distribution through an effective regional delivery

To increase income for distribution for TASS Bursaries and to those who qualify for SportsAid through a clear central strategy and a regional structure that addresses fund-raising, administration and delivery of SportsAid objectives.

3. Excellent systems and structures.

To ensure the effective governance, management and administration of the delivery of the SportsAid services
