Summary:
We supported the Sports Council for Wales (SCW) in driving their equality agenda forward over a two-year period through Delivery and Equality Standard assistance in multiple areas.
Approach:
We supported the SCW through the Foundation level of the Equality Standards and towards the Preliminary level as we have worked with 20 Welsh Governing Bodies over 2 years to support them through this process. We are delivering this through workshops on a quarterly basis and through ongoing support offered by email and telephone calls. Two of our team members are qualified Equality Standard Advisors (ESAs) for UK Sport and could therefore assess the SCWs and NGBs progress continuously throughout the process, submitting the final reports as and when required.
Outcome:
To date, the SCW have achieved the Foundation level; this project will support the organisation towards the Preliminary levels as well as helping the 14 Welsh NGBs progress with their own levels of the Equality Standard.
