Last Thursday, 45 NGB and CSP club and workforce leads gathered at Aston Villa Football Club to attend the first Club Matters Workshop Taster day. The day aimed to provide a greater understanding of the Club Matters workshops and how they can be delivered, to the greatest effect, to clubs within a specific sport or geographical area.
Our team of tutors (including both Sport Structures staff and external tutors) took attendees through each of the five workshops, including the two new workshops; Club Experience and Club Volunteer Experience. The two new workshops were very well received and build on the existing workshop suite that supports clubs with developing their legal structures, their business planning and the marketing of their club to new communities.
We have been working on an integrated approach to help us plan workshops with NGBs and CSPs to suit their needs. The Club Matters workshops provide an excellent opportunity for sports clubs to overcome any challenges they face in ensuring their success and long-term sustainability. Our goal is to get as many workshops running across the country as possible.
