In response to COVID-19, we supported British Gymnastics to provide over 30 Club Matters workshops to their club workforce. They delivered the entire suite of workshops over a 3 month period to 265 participants! Due to the success through this time, British Gymnastics have booked in a further 16 workshops until March 2020. Eilish Ward, Business Support Partner (clubs), at British Gymnastics had this to say about their experience:

“During the lockdown, we have utilised the Sports Structures & Club Matters online workshop offer to supplement our own learning offer during the April-July period. During this time, we have offered our clubs over 80 online webinars and workshops including over 30 Club Matters sessions. The Club Matters sessions have been fantastic during this time for a number of reasons. They’ve enabled us to select topics to focus on that we do not necessarily have the expertise in e.g. Introduction to Legal Structures. The sessions have also enabled us to provide a bespoke learning environment that encourages delegate interaction and engagement which compliments our other internal webinars really well. We’ve really felt the benefit of using the online system in terms of engaging our members during this time while the session topics have really resonated as well during the current climate e.g. planning for your future, volunteer recruitment & engagement.

In terms of our clubs, I feel that the sessions have increased the knowledge and understanding of our members across the various topics as well as giving our members a chance to interact with other like-minded coaches, managers or officers from all over the country. Overall, we’ve had a great experience working with the Sports Structures team who constantly strive for high standards and have worked collaboratively with us to achieve a high standard of learning for our members on each workshop.”
