Course description
This qualification is designed to provide learners with a qualification to confirm competency of their Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Practice. The qualification assesses the performance of learning and development practitioners who maintain the quality of assessment within an organisation or assessment centre (ie internal verifier).
Who is the course for?
The qualification is designed to upskill assessors within their specialist subject area, to internally quality assure assessments. Ultimately, the qualification is ideal for experienced assessors who are looking to become an internal quality assurer and quality assure practice for vocational coaching qualifications.

Successful learners are eligible to seek employment in appropriate paid or voluntary internal quality assurance roles within their specialist subject area, to internally quality assure assessments.

Learner eligibility
Learners must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be appropriately identified
- Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing)
- Hold an assessing qualification
- have access to internal quality assurance opportunities
If this course has an online format, learners must have access to a laptop or tablet. A smartphone device is accepted but the functionality can be limited. The device must have access to a microphone as the sessions will be interactive. Please also ensure you have good WIFI access. Assessment
Learners must:
- complete a series of written tasks contained within their learner portfolio
- produce or review an IQA strategy and provide a rationale
- produce or review a sampling plan with a rationale
- plan and deliver IQA interventions
Assessor Criteria
Due to the assessment requirements for this qualification, learners need to be observed quality assuring in their own environment.
Learners are welcome to source their own assessors (that meet the assessor criteria). Alternatively, we can support in sourcing an appropriately qualified assessor. If the latter option is chosen, a fee will apply. Please contact us for further information.
Individuals must have access within their current role to internally quality assure assessments for qualifications, accredited programmes of study with assessments, or job related assessments in the relevant environment in order to complete all elements of the qualification
Format / duration
This qualification is delivered in one of two formats. Please view the options at the bottom of the page to understand which options are available:
- Online delivery with a course tutor
- Face to face tutored delivery

Progression opportunities
Having gained further experience in internal quality assurance, learners with responsibility for co-ordinating/leading a team of internal quality assurers, could progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
Payment
Payment plans are available to support individuals to pay for this course. If you decide to go ahead with a payment plan, please pay 50% of the course fee below to secure your place and we will then contact you to arrange the next payment.
If you wish to pay in full, you will find an option to pay 100% of the course fee below.

This process is available to determine demand. Courses will be organised if demand exists so we would strongly recommend that you register your interest.
The registration of interest process is free. Your payment details are not required. You will be asked to complete your 'booking' details but this will simply be to register your interest and not book onto a course.
