The Introduction to Coaching Korfball Award aims to develop your knowledge and skills so you can deliver fun, safe and engaging Korfball activities under the guidance of a more qualified coach.
This course replaces the previous England Korfball Level 1 Award.

This course is designed for people who are getting started in Korfball coaching or who want to support an established coach.

Learner eligibility
What do I need before starting?
To take part in the course, learners must:
Be at least 16 years of age.
Be able to communicate effectively in English, including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Course format
Two parts. One practical introduction to coaching.
The course uses a blended learning approach, combining online learning with a practical face-to-face session.

E-learning
Complete a series of bite-sized online modules covering the key knowledge needed before and around your practical session.

4 hours
Practical session
Attend a face-to-face practical session with an approved England Korfball tutor at a local venue.
Completing your course
All elements must be completed before your certificate can be issued. E-learning access is normally provided during the week before the practical session and learners have two weeks from receiving access to complete the online learning. Additional time may be granted in exceptional circumstances.
Assessment
No formal assessment
There is no formal assessment for this award. Your progress and participation will be monitored throughout the course.
Progression
Where can the course take me?
This course can lead to further learning or training in coaching Korfball and other sport-specific coaching courses.
Learners who want to continue their coaching development can progress towards the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Korfball).
