Course description
This qualification is designed to prepare learners for deployment as independent positional coaches within an American Football programme. The award gives an overview of the foundations of sports coaching and a focus on the core fundamentals within the sport.

Who is the course for?
This course is specifically for individuals who have experience of coaching and are operating in a club environment. It is ideal for learners seeking to move into Head Coaching positions and those developing into coaching positions within BAFA’s National Programmes.
Learner eligibility
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be appropriately identified.
Hold a BAFCA Level 1 coaching award.
Evidence delivering American Football coaching sessions over the past twelve months.
Communicate effectively in English, including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Have access to a laptop or tablet.
Additional components
The following additional elements must be completed and uploaded to your e-Learning account for certification to be awarded. These should also be uploaded to the NGB registration system.
USA Football Youth Coach Certification.
UK Coaching Digital Duty of Care Badge.
Level 1 Safeguarding qualification if coaching under 18s.
Basic First Aid qualification, online or face to face.
Assessment
To achieve the British American Football Coaches Association Level 2 Award, learners are required to complete written and online tasks, online tests, additional course components and an assessed coaching practice element.
The final assessment includes one progressive coaching drill and one core fundamentals drill.
Format and duration
The course is delivered through a blended learning approach, including online learning via the e-Learning platform, practical assessment through video submission and completion of all additional components.
All elements must be completed within 3 months of the course start date. Learners have a maximum of 3 months access to their online learning account.
