1st4Sport Portfolio
You can complete each task by downloading the portfolio linked on this page. When you have completed task 8, it is recommended that you contact you tutor/assess to assess your tasks to date prior to you starting to individually plan your coaching sessions. You tutor/assessor will provide feedback on your submission and may identify areas for improvement which may require further work by you.
Task flow and completion
You will need to be fully competent in every task detailed below. The delivery will be through a blended approach of virtual classrooms, distance learning, recorded webinars, self directed learning, video analysis and practical assessments. You will be supported to gain knowledge and new skills and complete the required assessment tasks.

Qualification completion flow
1st4Sport task guidance video can be found below. Please note, the Moodle online portal referred to in the video is no longer active, instead please complete your portfolio via Word and send to your assessor via email for assessment.
Coaches should complete the knowledge tasks (up to task 8) and then inform their assessor that their portfolio is ready for review.
Coaches should then progress through task 9 (coaching sessions for task 9 should link to games and the game log should include game plan, copy of stats and score sheets) and the additional task of developing a show-reel, details of which can be found below*. These tasks should be submitted for review prior to assessment for task 10 being arranged. Coaches will receive feedback on their sessions for task 9 and a professional discussion will be arranged with an assessor to discuss the feedback from the submitted show-reel.
Coaches should then seek to arrange their assessment for task 10. This involves coaching at a training session. This is detailed in task 10. Please attempt to give a months’ notice. Coaches may also want to arrange their assessment for task 13 at this stage.
Coaches should complete tasks 11 and 12 and submit these to their assessor.
Finally, observation in a game is required for completion of task 13.
