Welcome to the BAFCA Level 2 Award Course.
This is your pre-course information.
The documents to the left are essential documents for you to be aware of prior to you attending the course. These are:
- A learner contract (this outlines the principles of behaviour we expect learners to have whilst progressing through their course. This contract applies to qualifications (regulated) and courses (non regulated).
- A learner pack (which details our policies and procedures).
Learner eligibility
Learners must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be appropriately identified
- Hold a BAFCA level 1 coaching award
- Have experience of playing American Football at local / regional / national or international level
- Be able to evidence delivering American Football coaching sessions over the past twelve months
- Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).
- Have access to a laptop/tablet, good WiFi and microphone to participate in virtual classroom sessions. Any special learning requirements must be made clear at the registration process.
- Have the following pre-requisites for the course
- USA Football Coach Certification (Youth Certification)

- This prerequisite element will need to be completed prior to practical assessment of the course, not registration for online course.
- Safeguarding – If you do not have a valid certificate, we offer Safeguarding courses which can be found here. Valid safeguarding certificates from other providers will also be accepted. This will need to be completed prior to certification of the course, not registration.
- Basic First Aid Qualification - If you do not have a valid certificate, we offer First Aid courses which can be found here. Valid First Aid certificates from other providers will also be accepted. This will need to be completed prior to certification of the course, not registration.
- USA Football Coach Certification (Youth Certification)
Failure to provide required evidence may result in certification not being released.
Format / duration
The course is delivered through a blended delivery approach. This consists of:
- Online learning via our e-Learning platform
- Practical Assessment via video submissions
- Completing all additional components for the course


Assessment
To achieve the British American Football Coaches Association level 2 award, learners are required to have assessed evidence of:
- Completing all additional components for the course – USA Football Coaching Certification and UK Coaching Digital Duty of Care Badge or Level 1 Safeguarding Qualification
- Completing all written and online tasks via Sports Structures platform
- Completing all online tests associated with the content covered in the course
- The final element of the course involves the assessment of coaching practice. This will include one progressive coaching drill, along with a core fundamentals drill.

Registration Period
Please be aware that your registration period is valid for 3 months from the start date of your course. It is recommended that you complete the course in this period. If for unseen circumstances, you need to apply for an extension, you must contact us at least 1 month prior to your registration expiry date.
What if I cannot attend?
Please refer to the terms and conditions of booking if you wish to withdraw or are unable to attend.
Feedback
This is a new delivery format for the BAFCA L2 course. We would really value your feedback to continue to improve the service we provide. It will be a requirement for certification to complete our short feedback survey.
Certification
In addition, if all debts have been paid and attendance / competence has been confirmed, we will process certification electronically for you. Please note, you may incur a charge for replacement certificates to be sent.
