Sport Structures - Sport Education and Training

Assessor Criteria

Due to the assessment requirements for this qualification, learners need to be observed quality assuring in their own environment. Learners are welcome to source their own assessors (that meet the assessor criteria which can be found at the end of this document). Alternatively, we can support in sourcing an appropriately qualified assessor. If the latter option is chosen, a fee will apply. Please contact us for further information.

Assessor Criteria

Assessors are required to:

  • hold a recognised assessing qualification (work environment)* (examples include: D32 and D33; A1; Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment; Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement).*Previous 1st4sport Certificate in Internal Verification Practice in Sport (CIVPS) tutors and assessors - If only hold IAPS, will need to achieve one of the assessing qualifications listed above within two years, or evidence experience working to those standards.
  • hold a recognised quality assurance qualification (examples include: ENTO Unit D34, ENTO Unit V1, 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Internal Verification Practice in Sport [CIVPS], Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of assessment Process and Practice).
  • has relevant assessing experience for other regulated qualifications
  • has up-to-date working knowledge and experience of best practice in assessment and quality assurance
  • show current evidence of CPD in assessment and quality assurance

This must be evidenced to Sport Structures by:

  • CVs which contains information to support occupational competence
  • Providing evidence of an assessor qualification
  • Providing evidence of a quality assurance qualification

It is important that assessors are orientated by Sport Structures prior to any assessments going ahead.
