Since the end of April 2020, the Sport Structures Club Matters team have been delivering all 6 of the Club Matters workshops virtually in response to the COVID-19 crisis. We have had a fantastic response with over 100 workshops being booked in from May to July by various organisations such as Active Partnerships and National Governing Bodies. We have also seen a really positive response to our recently published open workshops, across all six titles, available for volunteers as well as the professional workforce.

In order to maintain the interactivity of the workshops, which we know is a fundamental part of the face-to-face workshops success, the Club Matters virtual workshops allow for engagement via breakout rooms, polls, annotation tools and the use of whiteboards. Some of the feedback received can be found below:

In response to this pandemic, we have also tailored workshop content accordingly to support clubs and their workforce during this time. We have also been supporting the development of resources via the Club Matters website which include ‘Preparing your committee to operate virtually’ and ‘Running virtual meetings and AGMs’

We are delighted that we have been able to engage over 330 club volunteers and professional workforce so far, and we look forward to supporting many more over the coming months. We would like to thank the workshop organisers and workforce we have engaged with to date, for being flexible and providing feedback to make the workshops even more purposeful.
