This Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship will equip leaders and senior managers with the necessary tools to effectively manage teams and/or projects to successfully meet goals as part of the organisation's strategy and achieve Chartered Manager status.
The Operations/Departmental Manager standard is a 2 to 2 and a half year apprenticeship and covers the key competencies required to successfully manage teams and projects in line with an organisation’s operational or departmental strategy. The programme will cover a variety of topics allowing managers to contribute to, and create, strategic plans alongside the creation and development of business plans which will be integral to a business’ performance. Some of the topics covered include: managing people, developing relationships, operational management, project management and finance.
The apprenticeship is taught by our qualified tutors and is delivered through a series of face to face group sessions at the Sports Structures office in Birmingham or another suitable venue as well as visits to the employer’s workplace and remote sessions as required.
Apprentices must be employed for the duration of the apprenticeship and work at least 30 hours per week for their employer with 20 per cent of their time allocated to ‘off the job’ training. The apprentices will be assessed via an end point assessment which includes a knowledge test, a structured competency based interview, an assessment of a portfolio of evidence and a presentation on a work based project with Q&A session to check they have gained the required knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve the operations/departmental manager standard.
