The Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor and the Level 5 Operations/Department Manager apprenticeship standards are delivered in partnership with Dudley College who received an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ grade in May 2017. Both Sport Structures and Dudley College share a commitment to delivering high quality apprenticeship programmes.
The Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor standard is designed to provide participants with the communication and motivational skills needed to improve operational efficiency. The programme will cover a variety of topics allowing managers to support, manage and develop both themselves and their teams. Apprentices will learn how to manage projects, plan and monitor workloads and resources, deliver business plans, resolve problems and make decisions. The apprenticeship will last approximately 12 to 18 months and is delivered at an employer’s workplace or another suitable venue.
The Level 5 Operations/Department Manager standard is designed to equip managers with the skills needed to manage resources, recruitment and information management. The programme will cover a variety of topics allowing managers to contribute to, and create, strategic plans alongside the creation and development of business plans which will be integral to a business’ performance. The apprenticeship will last approximately two and a half years and is delivered at an employer’s workplace or another suitable venue.
Apprentices must be employed for the duration of the apprenticeship and work at least 30 hours per week for their employer with 20 per cent of their time allocated to ‘off the job’ training. The apprentices will be assessed via an end point assessment by the Chartered Management Institute to check they have gained the required knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve the standard.
