The Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship is aimed at any organisation that coaches sport in the community. This carefully designed training and work programme combination teaches a range of skills that lead to high quality and flexible community coaches.
The Level 2 Community Activator Coach standard is a 12 to 18 month apprenticeship where the apprentice will work in a coaching or activity leadership role for an organisation that deliver in the community. If the apprentice is working predominantly in a school sport setting the PESS qualification will be included to add value and ensure the apprentice has this to meet the minimum standards in accordance with afPE guidance for working in schools.
We have extensive experience working in the sports sector alongside knowledgeable and experienced tutors who teach this standard. Learning modules are mainly delivered at an employer’s workplace or another suitable venue and often as a group. Each apprentice is given a toolkit to support them through the apprenticeship and additional e-learning modules are included in the delivery plan to enhance a learner’s knowledge and understanding.
Apprentices must be employed for the duration of the apprenticeship and work at least 30 hours per week for their employer with 20 per cent of their time allocated to ‘off the job’ training. The apprentices will be assessed via an end point assessment which includes a practical coaching observation, a presentation with questions and answers and a panel interview to check they have gained the required knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve the community activator coach standard.
