Jobeth recently joined Sport Structures in September 2009 after graduating from the University of Wolverhampton 2:1 in sport coaching in 2008. She is also in the process of completing a MSc in applied sport and exercise science also from the University of Wolverhampton. Passionate about community sports, Jobeth has been involved in coaching in her local community for many years, most notably improving girls participation in sports especially girls rugby union and netball as a result Jobeth has a number of NGB coaching qualification at level 1 and level 2. She is also a swimming teacher at her local leisure centre, a coach at Wednesbury Rugby club and plays hockey for Walsall ladies 1st 1V
Role
Joining the coaching team, headed by Amy Heppinstall, Jobeth is currently working on the 2012 inspiration for progression and participation, It is her job to encourage individuals who are currently inactive, unemployed or socially excluded to gain new skills and engage in their communities through the sports leader level 1 accredited qualification and the level 1 award for preparing for event volunteering (personal best)
In this role she has to recruit people onto the program, liaise with clubs, county sports partnerships, community programmes, voluntary organisation, probation service and most importantly the candidates.
Jobeth now also support the work in the Resaerch team under the guidance of Sarah Green. She has suuported research across the CSP Network, Mountaineering and the Lacrosse Coaching Audit.
Experience
Having only recently joined Sport Structures Jobeth brings with her a positive and professional attitude to providing the best delivery of the 2012 inspiration program. Her current role in the company has also allowed her to enhance her skills and experiences by learning from other members of staff. Jobeth has also worked in the leisure sector for 7 years, and coached for 3 before working for Sport Structures, this has given her experiences in event management, public relations, training methods and motivation
As a result Jobeth has built her experience by working with dedicated sport and leisure professionals, often working and coaching in deprived areas, she enjoys motivating and “changing people minds” about sport. She motivates adults and children alike to participate, referee, or volunteer in sport so that they can benefit themselves and their local communities
