Profile
Sarah joined Sport Structures in 2004 as a graduate from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSc (Hons) Sport Development and Coaching. As a qualified ski instructor Sarah has worked at home and abroad providing instruction and guiding. Sarah is a qualified facilitator having achieved the Certificate in tutoring sport as part of in house training and is qualified to deliver the CSLA to young people. Sarah supported by the company also attained a distinction in her MSc Sport Development at Sheffield Hallam University alongside her full-time role.
Role
Sarah leads the research aspect of our consultancy - 'Measure for Leisure'. The knowledge and research experience gained within her post graduate course has enabled Sarah to further develop our research capabilities, including basic database manipulation, comprehensive statistical analysis and GIS mapping.
As well as providing research expertise Sarah plays a role in leading projects with clients. She supports projects through providing basic outputs such as consolidating and interpreting national data through to integration and development of strategic planning.
Sarah leads the marketing of the company and has recently been appointed to the board of Sport Structures Recruitment.
Experience
Sarah has developed our research capabilities to provide robust evidence for the direction of sport development. She has varied experience in the use of the latest statistical techniques and software, to perform statistical testing and produce visual representation of data expressed in graphical form or GIS mapping. Our online survey function is managed by Sarah who assists clients in reaching a wider consultation audience, developing the question design and distribution process to ensure a suitable level of response is achieved.
Sarah has a broad range of experience exploring grading analysis, volunteering profiles, workforce development, user and non user surveys as well as monitoring and evaluation. She has worked with national and local clients including Sport England, CCPR, Sporting Equals, County Sports Partnerships, local authorities, Community Sports Networks and governing bodies.
She has led projects such as the review of grading and ranking for Badminton England leading to a change in structure within the sport and the development of the volunteer strategy for CSW Sport which influenced a greater level of resources into the county for sport volunteers.
