Empowering Community Sport Conference - A 2012 Community Sports Legacy for the West Midlands

The conference explored the great work already undertaken in the West Midlands in the empowering of local communities through sport. The conference was organised by two of the leading practioners in community sport StreetGames and Sport Structures Coaches CIC and supported by Advantage West Midlands.

Over 80 people attended the event at Villa Park ranging from National Governing Bodies of sport, National Sports Organisations, Regional sports and non sport bodies, County Sport Partnerships, local authorities and Primary Care Trusts.

The format of the conference was to lead in with former professional sports people with a range of practical masterclasses of great practice followed by a final closing session addressing evidence for funding.
